Schwarzkopf Volumizing Styling Powder

15//04//2012
Schwarzkopf got2b Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder | £4 Tesco

I bought this the other day on a whim. I had heard about volumizing powders before but had never tried one as I was told they could be quite expensive. As this one was only £4 I thought I'd give it a go.

It claims to boost the volume of your hair 'in an instant' by either rubbing it into your hands and then your hair, or shake directly onto the roots of your hair when it is dry. My hair is really fine and naturally lies ridiculously flat to my head and I absolutely hate it so I'm forever trying to give it a bit of a boost!

By sprinkling the powder on to the roots of my hair and massaging it in, the powder goes sort of sticky and rough, allowing my hair to start looking much more volumised. The more you apply the more volume you can get and although it isn't a particularly nice texture, it definitely adds volume. The brilliant thing about it is that unlike hairspray which can make your hair look greasy, this mattifies the hair and doesn't make it go hard and stiff which I hate. The product stays in my hair for a really long time, even if it goes a bit flat again then I can 'shush' it up and still feel the product working in my hair.

From looking at the reviews on Boots' website half the people seem to hate it and the other half love it so it might not be for everyone! I actually love this product and I showed it to my sister who now loves it too. As long as you don't use too much then I don't think you can go wrong, I prefer this a million times more to backcombing and hairspraying. I will definitely be repurchasing!

  1. I'm interested in these, but I hate anything that feels sticky in my hair so I'm guessing this one isn't for me!

  2. I have really fine hair and like using this when I can't be bothered to do much else with my hair, it's especially good for when I've just washed my hair because it goes so flat/ limp. Do find it makes me feel like I need to wash my hair more but I guess that's the same when I use hairspray anyway!

    1. Not at all, as long as you don't use too much then I don't think it's a problem. I like the fact that it stays in that long! I just despise having such flat hair haha. Gives my hair so much more texture :) xxx

  4. I hate the feeling of this in my hair. I feel like I have to wash it atleast twice to get that weird dry kind of stiff feeling out. But its not stiff as in a hairspray feeling its a hard to explain kind of texture. haha.
